Safety Certified

CPSIA or The U.S. Consumer Product Safety Improvement Act (CPSIA) mandates that every product designed or intended primarily for use by children 12 years of age or younger meets adequately strict safety standards as stipulated by this Act.This act came into effect in the US after some renowned toy brands were found to containharmful levels of lead in them. Some of the key tests mandated are for traces of harmful chemicals such as lead and phthalates, checking for small parts/snap fastness which can be a choking hazards, flammability among others.Every product that sells in the US has to be certified as mandated by this act!
No, to sell cloth diapers in India we do not need to ensure that our products clear these tests. However, as a responsible brand that works with children, infants, and newborns at that, we believed that we must get these tests done at our end too, even if they were not mandated by the Indian law.
You can never overemphasize the safety aspect of products used for infants and newborns. While cloth diapers are not consumables and are an apparel, they remain in close proximity to a child for a significant duration of time.Hence, testing to ensure they are fully safe is definitely important.

The way the tests are carried out ensures that while testing is done on a few units in a batch, the results are valid for all the products made in the batch. All our products new and older lots are thus CPSIA compliant.
