Howler Monkeys are the loudest animal in the New World and their sound can travel for up to three miles of thick forest. Male howler monkeys have large throats and specialized, shell-like vocal chambers that help to turn up the volume on their distinctive call. Saltwater Crocodiles are the largest species of crocodile, in fact the largest of the reptiles! The Saltwater Crocodile has the strongest bite amongst any living animal. However, the muscles that open its mouth are relatively weak.

Male lions grow impressive manes, these manes grow up to 16cm long and are a sign of dominance. Lions are highly adaptable and can live in very dry areas like the Kalahari Desert. Here they get most of their water from their prey and will even drink from plants.

Hedgehogs have around 5000 to 7000 spines on their back. These can be raised and lowered to respond to danger. Their long snout helps them hunt for insects, worms, caterpillars and berries. They hunt mostly using their hearing and smell as their eyesight is not very good but they can see very well in the dark.
